TIRUCHI: The Chennai Egmore - Coimbatore - Chennai Egmore Expresses (Train No. 6607/6608) will be extended up to Mangalore with effect from January 3.

Due to the extension of this train, the Tiruchi - Mangalore - Tiruchi (Train No. 6867/6868) Expresses has been cancelled, a Southern Railway press release said on Monday.

Train No. 6607 Chennai Egmore - Mangalore Express will leave Chennai Egmore at 10 p.m. from January 3 and arrive Tiruchi at 4.45 a.m., the next day. It will leave at 5.25 a.m. to reach Mangalore at 10 p.m.

In the return direction, Train No. 6608 Mangalore - Chennai Egmore Express will leave Mangalore at 6.40 a.m. from January 3 and reach Tiruchi at 10.10 p.m. It will leave at 10.20 p.m. to reach Chennai Egmore at 5.30 a.m., the next day.

These trains will stop at Mambalam, Tambaram, Chengalpattu, Melmaruvathur, Tindivanam, Villupuram, Vriddhachalam, Ariyalur, Tiruchi Junction, Tiruchi Fort, Kulithalai, Karur Junction, Erode Junction, Tiruppur, Coimbatore, Palghat, Shoranur Junction, Kozhikkode and Mahe. The trains will have 2 two AC 2-tier, one AC first class cum 2-tier, 10 sleeper class, six general second class and two second class cum luggage van coaches, the release added.
