The traffic police on Monday made certain changes to the flow of vehicular movement on EVR Periyar Salai near Kilpauk Medical College as repair work is being undertaken on the damaged stretch.

According to an official release, stretches from Gengu Reddy subway to Ega theatre junction; Spur Tank Road (East); Spur Tank Road and Dr. Gurusamy Bridge, have been temporarily declared as one-way.

Vehicles from Parry's Corner bound for Koyambedu via EVR Periyar Salai have to turn left into Gengu Reddy subway and pass through Spur Tank Road, Chetpet signal, Dr. Gurusamy Bridge and turn left onto EVR Periyar Salai and can proceed towards Koyambedu.

Vehicles from Co-optex junction heading to EVR Periyar Salai via Casa Major Road have to turn right on Casa Major Road and reach EVR Periyar Salai via Halls Road, Udupi Point and Nair Bridge.

Vehicles on roads culminating at Spur Tank Road such as Santhosam Road, T.V. Road and Chitti Babu Street will not be allowed to turn left. Those intending to go to Egmore can take Sathyamurthy Road. Entry has been banned for vehicles going from Spur Tank Road to Harrington Road. Such vehicles should take a left turn at the Chetpet signal and a U-turn at Sterling Point to reach Harrington Road.

Vehicles will not be allowed to turn right into Spur Tank Road from Valluvar Kottam High Road at Chetpet junction. Such vehicles can move through Dr. Gurusamy Bridge, Ega junction and turn right towards Gengu Reddy subway to reach Spur Tank Road. Vehicles from Harrington Road will not be allowed to proceed towards Spur Tank Road. They can turn left at Chetpet signal, pass through Dr. Gurusamy Bridge, Ega junction, turn right and go through Gengu Reddy subway to reach Spur Tank Road. Vehicles on Dr. Gurusamy Bridge, heading towards EVR Periyar Salai will not be allowed to pass through Vasu Street.

Police have banned a right turn at Ega theatre junction on EVR Periyar Salai for vehicles coming from Aminjikarai side. Instead, the vehicles will go up to Gengu Reddy subway and pass through Spur Tank Road to reach Chetpet.
