CHENNAI: In view of the annual festival at Annai Velankanni Church in Besant Nagar, the police have announced certain changes in vehicular movement in Besant Nagar on September 7 and 8.

From 2 p.m. on both days, vehicular movement from the junctions of M.G. Road-7th Avenue; 6th Avenue-4th Main Road; 3rd Avenue-4th Main Road; to the church will prohibited.

Vehicles will not be allowed on Sastri Nagar I Main Road from L.B. Road, Damodharapuram and Jeevarathinam Nagar towards Besant Nagar bus terminus.

Parking facilities would be available at Corporation playground on 32nd Cross Street. One side parking will be allowed on 4th Avenue, Customs Colony II Cross Street, 5th Avenue-Orur Kuppam Road, Elliots Beach 6th Avenue, 17th, 21st, 24th, 25th, 26th, 27th, 28th and 32nd Cross Streets.

MTC buses will not be allowed to take left turn from M.L. Park towards Besant Avenue Road from 2 p.m. Other vehicles will not be allowed towards Besant Avenue Road from 8 p.m.

At 8 p.m. L.B. Road will be made one way and vehicles coming from Adyar flyover towards Thiruvanmiyur should take L.B. Road. Vehicles from Thiruvanmiyur signal towards L.B. Road should take L.B. Road- Indira Nagar III Avenue junction towards Indira Nagar III Avenue, Kasturba Nagar III Cross Street to reach Sardar Patel Road. In the return direction vehicles from Sardar Patel Road will not be allowed towards Kasturba Nagar III Cross Street. They have to take L.B. Road to reach Kasturba Nagar, the release said.
