: The City Police has announced diversion of town buses here in connection with ‘Deepavali’ keeping in mind the welfare of public. The diversion will come into effect from November 9.

Accordingly, all town buses coming from Gandhi Market and proceeding to Chathram bus stand via Madurai road will have to take a left turn at Arunachala Mandram and proceed through Maris theatre road over bridge, Kohinoor theatre, Karur Bypass road, Mayas Hotel and reach Chathram bus stand by taking a left at Raghunath hotel junction.

In the return direction, the buses should proceed via the usual route from Chathram bus stand. Town buses bound for Srirangam from Central bus stand should take a left at Arunachala Mandram and pass via Maris theatre road over bridge, Kohinoor Theatre, Karur Bypass road and Anna statue.

Buses from Srirangam should go via Anna statue, Rambha Urvasi theatre, Mayas hotel and Raghunath hotel to reach Chathram bus stand and proceed from thereon through the usual route.

Buses coming via Woraiyur and Thillai nagar routes should go through Kohinoor theatre, Karur Bypass road, Mayas Hotel and reach Chathram bus stand by taking a left at Raghunath hotel junction. In the return direction, the buses should take the usual route.

All town buses bound for Chathram bus stand from E.B. road should go via Periyasamy tower, Anna statue, Rambha Urvasi theatre, Mayas hotel and Raghunath hotel. In the return direction, these buses should take a right turn upon reaching Periyasamy tower and go through the usual route.

Buses from Lalgudi, Manachanallur and Samayapuram should pass via Anna statue, Rambha Urvasi theatre, Mayas hotel and Raghunath hotel to reach Chathram bus stand. In the return direction, these buses should go through Periyasamy tower, Anna statue and proceed from thereon in the usual route, a release said.
