Advocate V.M. Velumani, who has been appointed as an additional Judge of Madras High Court, will be sworn in by Chief Justice R.K. Agrawal on Friday. With this, the strength of the Judges rises to 47 against the sanctioned strength of 60.

Born on 6 April, 1962, in Kanakkanpatti village in Dindigul district, Ms. Velumani completed law degree in Madras Law College and enrolled herself as an advocate in September, 1989. She worked as a junior under late senior advocate B.R. Dolia and senior advocate A.L. Somayaji (presently Advocate-General). — Staff Reporter
