The ‘Theendamai Ozhippu Munnani' (Tamil Nadu Untouchability Eradication Front) will conduct a one-day conference here on September 24.

Addressing the press, secretary of the TNUEF G. Ramasamy said the charter of demands of the Front would be released at the conference by P. Sampath, State President, TNUEF. He said although Puducherry was supposed to have inherited a lot of French customs, and people believed that there was no discrimination, Dalits in the rural areas still faced problems. Citing instances of discrimination, he said Dalits are not allowed into Draupadi Amman Temples in the region.
