VELLORE: Workers of Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC), Vellore and Tiruvannamalai, commenced a 36-hour fast in front of the TNSTC depot in Krishna Nagar here on Thursday in support of their demands. G. Latha, Gudiyatham MLA, inaugurated it.

Their demands include changing the duration of wage agreement to three years, immediate talks on the agreement, 30 per cent increase in salary, payment of 3 per cent of basic wages as increment, streamlining of pension scheme, adoption of a uniform salary system for all employees, removal of pay anomalies and promotion based on seniority.
