Enquiry office opened at Mandela Nagar

Earlier, commuters had to take a circuitous route by proceeding to Maatuthavani

MADURAI: The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation, Madurai division, has introduced night service buses between two destinations for the benefit of residents on the outskirts.

According to TNSTC general manager Venkatachalam, like the day service operations, the TNSTC has introduced two regular night services – one, between Mandela Nagar Ring Road and Arapalayam, and another between Virahanoor Ring Road and Arapalayam since December 6.

Distance to be saved

The official said that commuters would be able to save not only distance, but also on the fare and timing under the new arrangement.

Earlier, commuters had to take a circuitous route by proceeding to Maatuthavani from Mandela Nagar Ring Road and reach Avaniapuram.

In the new arrangement, the service would be via Perungudi, Avaniapuram, Periyar bus stand, Railway Junction and Cross Road.

Similarly, another service from Virahanoor Ring Road to Arapalayam, the bus proceeds via Teppakulam, South Gate, Periyar bus stand, Railway Junction and Cross Road.

Further, the TNSTC authorities had opened an enquiry office at Mandela Nagar which would be functioning roundtheclock, a press release said.
