The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission on Thursday conducted counselling for provisionally selected candidates for the posts included in Group I Services 2007-2008, 2009-2010 and 2010-2011.
Over 131 vacancies to the posts, such as deputy collector and deputy superintendent of Police will be filled through the counselling session.
S.Madhuranthagi of Dindigul district was declared the exam topper.
“I have opted for deputy collector post in the counselling held on Thursday. My father K.Sadasivam and my mother S.Amsavalli are my inspiration to do public service as a civil servant,” said Ms.Madhuranthagi, who has been planning to appear for the civic services examination conducted by the UPSC since childhood. She is likely to appear for the UPSC civil services examination also this year.
Her father is a deputy commissioner in the Commercial Taxes Department. “My father used to encourage me since I joined Standard I to become a civil servant,” said Ms.Madhuranthagi. She completed her graduation in electronics and communication engineering in 2010.
“I thank all my teachers who helped me clear the exam in the first attempt,” she added.
According to a press release from Manidha Neyam IAS Academy where she received coaching, 112 of the 131 selected candidates were registered with the academy.
Coaching for the completive examination was given free of cost with free boarding facilities at the institute.
