Women workers allege that ICDS project officer harassed them

The Tamil Nadu Government Employees Association (TNGEA) staged a demonstration in front of the Collectorate, on Wednesday, seeking appropriate action against Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) Project Officer N. Ravindran.

Over 200 anganwadi workers took part in the demonstration. They alleged that the women workers were sexually harassed by the official.

Speaking at the demonstration, S.D. Shankari, State Secretary, All India Democratic Women’s Association, condemned Mr. Ravindran for harassing anganwadi workers, particularly widows, using unparliamentary words.

Earlier, during November 2012, the Tamil Nadu Anganwdi Workers and Helpers Association lodged a complaint with the Collector on the supply of expired nutritious atta ( sathu maavu ).
