TIRUCHI: The Federation of Service and Consumer Organisations of the city has appealed to the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board to reduce the load shedding hours in Tiruchi urban limits to one-and-a-half hours on par with the load shedding schedule in force at Chennai.

In a representation, M.Sekaran convenor of the federation, said the TNEB was registered as a licensee to supply the power to consumers in the State under the Tamil Nadu State Regulatory Commission Act, 2003 and it had to provide uninterrupted and quality power to its consumers. In case of power failures, it should rectify within the time specified by the Commission for rural and urban consumers.
