CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu Congress Committee will organise photo exhibitions in all district headquarters in the State highlighting Tamil Nadu’s contribution to the freedom movement, party president K.V.Thangkabalu said on Monday.

Talking to reporters at Sathyamurthy Bhavan in connection with the 125th anniversary of the foundation of the Congress, Mr. Thangkabalu said he was in the process of collecting photographs of all tall leaders of the freedom movement. “Already, we have collected a lot of photographs,” he said.

The TNCC president said it had been decided to construct buildings for all the district committees to facilitate effective functioning of the party units at district level.

“We will also organise district-level conferences which will culminate in a mega State conference in Chennai,” he said.

Mr. Thangkabalu said the TNCC also had taken upon itself the task of creating booth-level committees across the State. “We will ensure that there is a Congress flag in every booth,” he further said. Earlier, he cut a 125 kg cake to commemorate the party’s foundation day.
