Tamil Nadu Agricultural University has inked a memorandum of understanding with Mahindra and Mahindra.

A release said the agreement paved way for collaborative research in farm mechanisation, with a focus on tillage machinery.

Ram Manrao, Senior vice president (R&D), Mahindra and Mahindra, and S. Santhana Bosu, Dean (Agricultural Engineering) signed the MoU in the presence of P. Subbaian, Registrar, TNAU.

Mr. Subbaian said that agriculture in Tamil Nadu was dependent on farm mechanisation. He appreciated the signing of the MoU.

Dr. Bosu highlighted the importance of mechanisation and said it would address labour shortage. M. Paramathma, Director, Research, TNAU, D. Manohar Jesudas, Professor and Head, Agriculture Machinery Research Centre, TNAU, and Mahindra and Mahindra representatives participated in the function.
