Out of 21,034 students, 14,717 passed exam, says Chief Educational Officer

Girls have registered a higher pass percentage when compared to boys

TIRUVANNAMALAI: In the higher secondary examination results, Tiruvannamalai district has registered neither progress nor setback, as 70 per cent of the students appeared from the district passed, just like last year. However, girls registered a higher pass percentage when compared to boys.

“A total of 21,034 students (10,726 boys and 10,308 girls) appeared for plus two exams. As many as 14,717 students (including 7,142 boys and 7,575 girls) passed the exam. The nine schools that have registered 100 per cent pass in the district are: Christu Jyothi Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Thanippadi; Indo American MHSS, Cheyyar; Jeeva Velu Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Tiruvannamalai; Mary Immaculate Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Kariyandhal; Rangammal Memorial Higher Secondary School, Sammandanur; SRM Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Kaveriyampoondi; Sri Ramakrishna Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Chengam; Suraj Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Melathangal; Wisdom Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Cheyyatraivendran,” Suganya, Chief Educational Officer, said. As far as government schools are concerned, Perunkulathur Government Higher Secondary School registered the highest pass percentage. It sent 49 students for the Plus Two exams and 46 passed, giving the school 93.88 % pass.
