Collector C. Samayamoorthy convened a meeting of revenue and police officials here on Monday to explain the procedures that needed to be followed while enforcing the Model Code of Conduct.

He asked the officials not to allow any candidate or his followers to make use of any individual's land or building for erecting flag poles or sticking notices.

The police should monitor whether the processions of political parties were going through the route for which they had sought permission for in advance.

The Collector also elucidated the guidelines published by the Election Commission of India for transporting electronic voting machines from the storage points to the polling stations.

Superintendent of Police A. Arun, officials from the flying squads constituted by the Police Department and staff from Revenue Department, among others, attended.
