Tight security in temples

: Security beefed up in temples and at public gathering places like bus stands and at railway stations in connection with the Babri Masjid demolition day.

Sufficient force was deployed at Sri Dhandayuthapaniswamy Temple on Palani hill and also at Thiru Avinankudi temple. The police were busy at Dindigul Railway station scanning baggage of passengers and parcels kept on the platforms. All check-posts at the entry points of Dindigul were alerted and all vehicles entering the town checked.

Demonstration

The Tamil Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam staged a demonstration near Clock Tower. The police were also deployed in all temples in the town.

Hindu Munnani staged a demonstration in Batlagundu demanding construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
