: Even as around 3,000 policemen and six companies of Central Forces have been deployed at Sankarankoil for ensuring free and fair bypoll on Sunday, polling materials were transported to the 242 polling stations amidst tight security on Saturday.

Since all polling stations are considered as ‘sensitive', web cameras have been installed in all 242 booths where the voters can cast their votes either by producing the Electors Photo Identity Card or the booth slip.

Though wireless systems are being liberally used, the jawans to be deployed at the polling stations have been given SIM cards to ensure unhindered communication between the State police and the Central Forces.

Apart from the State Police, the Central Forces will also be moving around to cover all the polling stations to instil confidence in the minds of the public.

The static surveillance teams and the check-posts erected on the roads leading to Sankarankovil during the run-up for the election have been retained.
