The College of Physiotherapy of Mother Theresa Post Graduate and Research Institute of Health Sciences held a conference to mark the World COPD Day on Wednesday.

A release issued by the college said the medical condition of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) remains a major public health problem. According to a study conducted by the World Health Organisation, COPD would rank fifth worldwide in terms of disease burden by the year 2020. Even now, one in 10 adults over the age of 40 has COPD and nearly three million people die from the pulmonary disease.
