Quarrel erupted between students of colleges during `Bus Day' celebrations

CHENNAI: Three students were arrested for damaging a Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) bus here on Friday afternoon.

The windshield of the Route M70 bus plying between the Koyambedu Mofussil Bus Terminus and Thiruvanmiyur was broken at the bus stop near the Guindy subway on Anna Salai during a quarrel between the students.

Police said that students of a city college, who were celebrating `Bus Day,' were travelling in the bus.

They entered into a quarrel with students of another college at the bus stop.

A section of students pelted stones at the bus.

Police sources said that a trainer-inspector from the Vadapalani depot sustained slight injuries and was admitted in the K.K. Nagar Government Hospital.

MTC sources said a commuter was injured in the stone-throwing and was admitted to hospital.

But the police said they had no knowledge of it.
