Three more Bills were introduced in the Assembly on Thursday.

One of the Bills pertained to the transfer of constituent colleges in Tindivanam, Villupuram, Tiruvannamalai and Kancheepuram from Anna University, Chennai, to Anna University of Technology, Chennai. Similarly, colleges, now under the control of Anna University of Technology, Tiruchi, would go to Anna University of Technology, Madurai.

One of the other Bills, which sought to replace ordinances issued last month, related to the implementation of the Value Added Tax (Second Amendment) Act, 2010, with retrospective effect. The Amendment Act provided for reversal of the amount of the input tax credit for the goods over and above the output tax of those goods in cases where registered dealers had sold goods at a price less than the price of the goods purchased by him.

It came into effect from August 19, 2010. Now, the government decided to give effect to it from January 1, 2007.

The third Bill pertained to the extension of the benefit of settlement of arrears of tax, penalty and interest under the Tamil Nadu General Sales Tax, Central Sales Tax and other allied Acts up to the assessment year 2006-2007 in respect of which assessments were made prior to June 1, 2010.
