Coimbatore: Commissioner of Police, Coimbatore City, C.K. Gandhi Rajan has ordered the detention of three undertrials, accused in a murder case, under the Goondas Act for one year. The detention orders have been served on them at the Coimbatore Central Prison.

Selvam (21) of Sanganoor Road, Manikandan (21) and Mohan alias Sahayaraj (21) of Mettupalayam Road were arrested on January 9 in connection with the murder of Kesavan, a former convict, at the erstwhile Kavundampalayam compost yard here on January 5.

Ex-convicts

The trio were ex-convicts in various cases of chain snatching, robbery and waylaying in Sai Baba Colony police limits, hence the decision to detain them, a police press release said.
