Have you planned your new year’s eve, yet? If not, this December 31 you could be a part of music organisation and portal Carnatica’s Eastern Ethnic New Year Eve bash at The Music Academy.
According to a press release from Carnatic musician K. N. Shashikiran, on that evening, from 10.15 p.m., a galaxy of musicians will take time out from their busy December music season schedules to usher in the new year with chants and rendition of peaceful classical tunes, including a music meditation for world peace.
The two-hour medley by popular vocalists and instrumentalists, presented by Carnatica in association with The Music Academy, will be open to all musicians and rasikas. The event will also offer an opportunity for rasikas to meet their favourite artistes.
The event will have some individual performances and a group rendition at midnight.
The list of participating artistes include S. Sowmya and S. Sankrith, the Malladi brothers, R.K. Shriramkumar, Embar Kannan and K. Sathyanarayana, Ghatam S. Karthick, Gayathri Venkatraghavan, Abhishek Raghuram, Carnatica Brothers (K.N. Shashikiran and P. Ganesh). The Trichur Brothers (Srikrishna Mohan and Ramkumar Mohan), Nirmala Rajasekhar, Amritha Murali, K. Gayatri, Kunnakudy Balamuralikrishna, Ramakrishnan Murthy, Bharat Sundar, and V.K. Manimaran will also participate.
A special Carnatic symphony, conceptualised by K.N. Shashikiran, will be presented by students of TKG Gurukulam under Guru Radha Ramji.
