Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president K.V. Thangkabalu has thanked Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi for having accepted the long-pending demand of his party for naming the Government Hospital, Chennai, after former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.

In a statement here, he pointed out that when Chief Whip of the Congress Legislature Party Peter Alphonse submitted this demand to the Chief Minister in the Assembly on Thursday, the latter announced in the House itself that it would be fulfilled soon. — Special Correspondent
