Coimbatore: Tense moments prevailed at Ettimadai in Kande Gounden Chavadi police limits on Saturday afternoon when two groups belonging to two different communities (faith) clashed over pasting of posters. It was learnt that a campaign poster propagating a particular faith was pasted on the walls in the area especially over the posters of a caste outfit. This led to tense moments.While one group resorted to a road blockade on Palakkad Road the other group thronged the police station seeking action. The police have registered cases against five persons belonging to both the sides. Police reinforcements have been deployed in the area.

House burgled

Burglars broke into the house of an LIC employee Daulath Nisha (47) of KG Nagar, near Sulur, and decamped with 165 sovereigns of jewellery. Daulat Nisha had been away to a hospital and on her return on Saturday afternoon she noticed the doors remaining broke open.
