A 10-day multimedia campaign of the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) was launched here on Saturday.

Miniature models of the houses being built under Kalaignar Housing Scheme were showcased at the exhibition held as part of the campaign.

District Collector R. Ananthakumar inaugurated the exhibition at Vallalar Thidal in the presence of R. Thamaraiselvan, MP representing Dharmapuri, MLAs V. Mullaivendan, P.N.P. Inbasekaran and P. Dillibabu.

Mr. Anandakumar said the exhibition highlights the achievements of the government in the last four-and-a-half years. It was organised for the purpose of reaching out the government schemes to the public. The exhibition will be on till January 17.

About 50 stalls were set up by the government departments, women SHGs and private agencies. Special documentaries on the government's achievements would be screened in all villages across the district.

Special camps such as Varumun Kappom, veterinary camps and awareness programmes by health, agriculture, horticulture, sericulture and other departments would be organised.

The department of arts and culture, self-help groups and other agencies would organise cultural programmes on all the days during the campaign.

A separate stall has been set up by the district administration to receive petitions from the public.

The petitions will be sent to the departments concerned and eligible persons will be given welfare assistance. A handout compiled by the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) was released by the Collector at the function.

S. Natarajan, Public Relations Officer welcomed the gathering. A. Senthil Anna, Assistant Public Relations Officer proposed vote of thanks.
