The issue at TELC Primary School at Valliangoundenpudur in the district, where parents had refused to send their children to school because of the poor condition of the building, was resolved on Friday.

District Elementary Education Officer T. Ganeshamoorthy said that the representatives of the school management, which was based in Tiruchi, had come to Coimbatore and held talks with the officials. They had agreed to the demands of parents and Education Department officials to construct a new school building.

As the funds for constructing the new building were expected to be mobilised only after one or two months, the school management had come forward to construct a temporary structure in the locality. “The Education Department will closely follow the issue till such time the new building is constructed. The temporary building will be constructed within the next four days,” he added.
