With the aim of boosting students’ performance and understanding of concepts in higher secondary classes, the State Council for Educational Research and Training organised a subject-wise training across the State for teachers of classes XI and XII.

Faculty from the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), senior PG teachers and college professors were roped in to address the needs of teachers from government and government aided-schools.

“The focus was also on specific subjects in which students’ performance in the class XII board exams needed to be improved. It concentrated on content enrichment and suggestion of methodology for students in rural areas,” said S. Kannappan, director, SCERT, adding that it covered roughly 25,000 teachers.
