CHENNAI: The State government’s move to effect a two per cent reduction in tax on diesel is inadequate, S. Ramadoss, Pattali Makkal Katchi founder, said here on Friday.

The tax reduction should have been extended to petrol and the quantum of the reduction higher, Dr. Ramadoss said, referring to the decisions of other State governments.

He said as done in Andhra Pradesh and Delhi, the State government should absorb, entirely or most of the hike in price of liquefied petroleum gas cylinders. — Special Correspondent
