They sought reinstatement of suspended staff

Those suspended not given a chance by officers to represent their side

ERODE: Employees working in liquor shops run by TASMAC protested here in front of the Taluk Office on Monday demanding reinstatement of suspended employees.

Affiliated to the Tamil Nadu TASMAC Paniyalargal Sangam, the protestors alleged that the managers of Erode office of TASMAC had arbitrarily suspended and transferred 20 employees.

For the suspended employees, the officers did not provide an opportunity to represent their side. All the suspensions and transfers were not only vindictive but also against rules and justice, said P. S. Soundarapandian, the union’s State president.

He said the suspension of district president P. Murugesan was condemnable, as the officers had not yet conducted an inquiry. He demanded reinstatement of the employees and revocation of transfers. N. Periasamy of CPI also participated.
