Tamil Nadu government should take steps to screen Vishwaroopam in the theatres in Tamil Nadu, said Pon.Radhakrishnan, State president of Bharathiya Janata Party (BJP), here on Thursday.

He told presspersons that the film has been screened in other states such as Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, and also in countries like Malaysia, and is running successfully. There is no law and order problem there. Moreover, Kerala and Malaysia have large Muslim population.

Mr. Radhakrishnan also said that he condemned the statement of Kamal Haasan that he would like to move to a State and country where there is secularism. This gives an impression that Tamil Nadu and India as a whole is not secular. Kamal Haasan should withdraw his statement.

It was unfortunate that a film produced and acted by a Tamil person is not screened in Tamil Nadu.

Tamil Nadu government should take action against those who attacked theatres and damaged them on Wednesday.
