: The South Asian Fishermen Fraternity (SAFF) urged the Government to bring back two Italian marines who killed two Indian fishermen in Kerala in 2012.

Fr. Churchil, secretary, who handed over a memorandum to Collector S. Nagarajan, along with the family members of the deceased on Thursday, told The Hindu that the response of Italy was “an insult to Indians and Judiciary of India.”

Hence the accused should be brought back to India and they must undergo legal proceedings.

“If the Centre failed to take necessary action against Italian marines, the lives of thousands of deep sea Indian fishermen lives would be at a risk,” said Fr. Churchil.
