TAMBARAM: The Madras Export Processing Zone Manufacturer’s Association has appealed to the State government to come down heavily on trade unions that indulged in violence.

In a statement, office-bearers of the association said they condemned the murder of Roy Joseph, vice president of Pricol in Coimbatore and recalled that the managing director of a firm in MEPZ was assaulted by employees of the same firm last year. They appealed to government to take serious note of such violent attacks on the management.
