Meet disseminates knowledge and popularises applications
Member Secretary of the French Acoustical Society, France, Manell E. Zakharia, highlighted the role of acoustics in the various fields of research, at the inauguration of the three-day National Symposium on Acoustics (NSA-2012).
The symposium is being jointly organised by the Acoustical Society of India (ASI) and KSR Institute for Engineering and Technology, Tiruchengode, from December 5 to 7.
The Hindu is the media partner for the event that is aimed at disseminating knowledge and popularising acoustics and its applications in various fields.
Mr. Zakharia who was the guest of honour said that India has the potential to explore advances in any field and released the symposium souvenir which was received by the Chairman of KSR Education Institutions K.S. Rangasamy.
Earlier Director, Dte of Materials, Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), New Delhi, K. Muraleedharn inaugurated the programme and released the proceedings of the symposium.
In his address he portrayed the role of DRDO in various research activities and exploration in the field of nanotechnology. He also encouraged Research and Development (R&D) through sponsors.
Mr. Muraleedharn emphasized the need for thematic teaching with autonomy of innovation, creativity and formation of network for collaboration.
He pointed out that the thriving areas of research of the DRDO is on structural health monitoring of aircraft and explorations in the fields of mining, communication, GPRS system and Underwater Stations.
