MADURAI: Despite having information in advance about the attack on his party office, the police had failed to act, Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy alleged here on Sunday.

Speaking to reporters, he said the erring police officers should be taken to task and demanded disciplinary action for their negligence. Dr. Swamy said he had no confidence in the police investigations and hence he would approach the High Court to monitor the prosecution of the case.

Two days ago, a few groups consisting of some lawyers and law students voiced their concern over the killings of Tamils in Sri Lanka. Later, they proceeded to the Janata Party office and ransacked. The Tallakulam police registered cases. Three persons, including two law students, were arrested. — Special Correspondent
