CHENNAI: Actor and MLA S.Ve. Shekher on Friday hinted that he would remain close to the DMK. He was responding to Deputy Chief Minister M.K. Stalin's speech while participating in a function organised in connection with the staging of 5,600 dramas by his troupe Natakhapriya. Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi was the chief guest.

Mr. Stalin said though Mr. Shekher was functioning as a non-attached member in the Assembly, he had a soft-corner for the Chief Minister. Mr. Shekher was the only AIADMK MLA who would greet the Chief Minister when he would enter the Assembly.

Though other Opposition MLAs also wanted to greet him, they could not do it for some reason.

“I would wonder why Mr. Shekher was with them. When would he come to us, I used to think,” Mr. Stalin said. Mr. Shekher said the Deputy Chief Minister's wish had been fulfilled. “Hereafter I will remain here only.”
