A 21-day summer sports coaching camp commenced here on Tuesday.

It is being organised by Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu in association with Sterlite Copper and sports associations.

Sharad Gargiya, Chief Finance Officer, Sterlite, kicked off the camp at the district sports stadium in the presence of Xavier Jothi Sargunam, district sports officer.

The training included athletics, football, hockey, volleyball, basketball, kabbadi, archery, taekwondo, tennis, silambam, gymnastics, handball, dodgeball, carrom, chess, cricket, ball badminton, boxing, yoga, cycling, table tennis, beach volleyball and kho kho, Dr. Sargunam said.

There is no entrance fee or age limit to this camp, which would be on from 6.30 a.m. to 8.30 a.m. and from 4.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. A total of 150 trainers would be involved in coaching the people.
