CUDDALORE: Srimath Andavan Swami of Sri Rangam Ashram on Sunday released the Tamil commentary of Sri Chathusloki and Sri Stotra Ratna on the occasion of the bi-centenary celebrations of Kedandapatti Swami Ranga Ramanuja Mahadesikan held at Thiruvahindrapuram near here on Sunday.

The Tamil summary on the Sanskrit slokas was originally written by Upa.Ve.Narashimhacharya Swami of Thiruvahindrapuram about 90 yeas ago.

However, this Tamil version had gone out of print and hence, could not be propagated any further. Therefore, to revive the edition K.S.Seshadri of Thiruvahindrapuram made strenuous efforts to trace the copies. After a great deal of efforts for over three years he garnered parts of the summary from various sources and compiled it in a book form. Mr. Seshadri said the Kedandapatti Swami Bi-centenary Committee had also recently presented a golden sadari weighing one kg to the presiding deity Sri Devanatha Swamy at Thiruvahindrapuram.

Srimath Andavan had stated that the book was translated on the basis of Sri Desikan’s Bashyam. The books could be obtained from the K.S.S.Charities at Thiruvahindrapuram (phone –04142-288261) and from S.Govindan, Adambakkam, Chennai (phone: 044-22531925).
