PERAMBALUR: The Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Sugars Limited, (DSSL) the foundation for which was laid at Udumbiyam village near here, will start functioning from November 2009.
Speaking at a function to mark the laying of foundation for the factory, the Founder-Chariman of Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Group, A. Srinivasan, said that the factory’s daily crushing capacity would be 3,500 tonnes. Its co-generation plant would generate 23 MW. The production of ethanol and rectified spirit and ENA would be 60,000 litres.
On the facilities to be provided by the factory, he said it would supply high-yielding variety of sugarcane to the farmers and would ensure tie-up with co-operative banks for loans. The sugarcane and the labourers would be covered under the insurance scheme. The factory would bear the transport charge for bringing the sugarcane from the fields.
The cutting orders and other details about disbursement of payment would be made transparent through the internet.
Prizes for cane growers
Special prizes would be given to cane growers with record yield in sugarcane.
The Director of the DSSL, Neelraj said that the factory would cover about 25,000 acres of crop.
The Chairman and Managing Director of Indian Bank, M. S. Sundara Rajan laid the foundation for the factory in the presence of the Chairman of J.J. College of Engineering and Technology, Tiruchi, P. Selvaraj.
