Women who wish to avail themselves of ‘gold for marriage' assistance under Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammayar Marriage Assistance Scheme should submit applications 40 days prior to the marriage, Collector Anshul Mishra has said.

“In the cases of marriages being fixed at short notice, the applications should be submitted at least before the marriage to make it possible for us to arrange for gold,” Mr. Mishra said while speaking at a gram sabha meeting at Ayyampalayam village in Tiruvannamalai taluk.

He also urged the people to make use of the Chief Minister's Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme. Speaking on Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS), Mr.Mishra said, “People should try to complete the volume of work earmarked to them to avail themselves of full wage of Rs.120 a day under the scheme.”

People of Pudur hamlet in Ayyampalayam village asked the Collector to give patta for their houses. Panchayat president N.Babu was present.
