Unidentified miscreants burgled the house of a sub-inspector of police in S.S. Colony and decamped with gold and other valuables.

Police said that Jayakumar, serving as a sub-inspector of police in S.S. Colony police station (crime wing), is residing at Malligai Street, Nehru Nagar. He was on leave for some personal reason. On Wednesday night, he had locked his house and went out for dinner at around 10 p.m. When he returned at around 11.30 p.m., he realised that some miscreants had broken open the lock and taken away gold chain, two gold rings, a silver anklet and a handycam. The S.S. Colony police have registered a case of house break-in and are on the look out for the robbers.
