P. Kaliraj, Vice-Chancellor, Anna University, Chennai, urged students to hone their communication skills and to be confident.

Speaking at the 29th College Day celebrations of Mepco Schlenk Engineering College in Sivakasi here on Tuesday, he said that students should be strong in their fundamentals, acquire innovative knowledge and be adept in practical application of innovation.

“Prefer core industries for employment as it provides ample scope to make use of acquired skills,’’ he said.

A total of 150 scholarships were awarded to students, who had excelled in studies, sports, co-curricular and extracurricular activities as well as top scorers in higher secondary examinations who had chosen the college. Teachers who had ensured 100 per cent success in examinations and those who had brought out publications were also felicitated.

S. Arivazhagan, Principal, presented the annual report. College correspondent A. Tenzing and secretary K. M. Ramalingam were present.
