TIRUCHI: In the scenario of world-wide recession, youngsters must either be self-employed or quickly choose a job that suits their aptitude, Datuk Hj Mohamed Haniffa, Pro-Chancellor & Executive Chairman of MASHA University, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, said while addressing the Graduation Day of the Nehru Memorial College, Puthanampatti, on Saturday.

Prof. Haniffa, an alumnus, conferred 900 candidates with Undergraduate and Postgraduate degrees in the presence of the president of NMC Educational Agency M. Ponnambalam, president of College Committee Pon Balasubramaniam, and Committee Members Thenmozhi Thangaraja and Pon Sivaneswari . The function was held at the newly constructed Mookkapillai Auditorium, a multi-purpose hall which can accommodate 2500 people.

Human resource strength must be optimised, he said, citing the late Dhirubhai Ambani , Warren Buffet and Azim Premji of Wipro as role models. Charting out a future and working towards achieving the aim with dedication, tenacity, determination, and confidence constitutes success. In the current technology and information era, students must identify their own career paths with an understanding of the value of hard work and self-sufficiency, he said.

Prof. Haniffa, who earlier visited the classrooms where he studied the pre-university course, profusely thanked his science teachers, and attributed to them his progress in medical industry.

K. Ramasami, Professor, presented a report on the academic and extension activities of the staff and students during the year.
