Students should take maximum advantage of libraries for developing their skills on various fronts, said State Transport Minister K. N. Nehru.
Speaking at the valediction of the National Library Week celebrations here on Saturday, Mr. Nehru referred to schemes for setting up libraries in urban and rural areas .
He said that it was the responsibility of every individual to play a key role for the growth of library movement.
Mr. Nehru himself set an example on the occasion by contributing Rs.10,000 and enrolling himself as a 'donor' for the District Central Library.
A. P. Sivakumar, District Library Officer, said that a large number of students and library members participated in various competitions held as part of the celebrations.
Mahesan Kasirajan, District Collector; Rani and Anbil Periyasamy, both MLAs, offered felicitations.Later, Mr. Nehru distributed prizes to winners.
