Students have presented nearly 200 projects on the second day of Tamil Nadu State edition 19th National Children Science Congress being held at Bannari Amman Institute of Technology in Sathyamangalam on Friday.
Over 900 students from 32 districts in the State had prepared these projects under the guidance of their teachers.
Organisers conducted 15 parallel sessions enabling the children to present their projects and explain their applications to a panel of experts.
The Tamil Nadu Science Forum co-ordinates the event. The Hindu is the media partner of the event.
The main theme of the science congress this year is “Land Resources: Use for prosperity, Save for Posterity.”
The main theme has been divided into six sub-themes to cover the spheres of quality of land resources, human activities, utilisation of land resources and community-based knowledge.
A total of 30 best projects would be selected in the State meet and sent to the national level meet scheduled to be held at Jaipur from December 27 to 31 this year.
The organisers also screened films on various science and technology concepts to the teachers, who accompanied the children, on Friday.
Experiments, demonstrations on science concepts, games, story telling, puppet making and a number of other activities were also conducted during the second day.
A book exhibition and cultural programmes also formed part of the exhibition.
