The Department of Pharmacology of Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research on Thursday organised a conference on “Rational use of antimicrobial agents.’’
A release said infectious diseases are among leading causes of death for which many antimicrobial agents are used. Resistance to these antimicrobial agents is now emerging as a major problem in all countries. Rational use of these agents is important to reduce the spread of resistance to antimicrobials.
The main speaker was Kathleen Anne Holloway, Regional Adviser- Essential Drugs and Other Medicines World Health Organisation, South East Asia Regional Office.
