: Chief Minister Jayalalithaa on Wednesday laid the foundation stone for renovation and reconstruction of District Industries Centres in 29 districts on behalf of micro, small and medium enterprises, costing Rs.39 crore.

An official release said the Chief Minister also laid foundation stone for renovating and modernising the training complex of Entrepreneurship Development Institute in Guindy

She also inaugurated New Entrepreneur-cum-Enterprise Development Scheme (NEEDS), which enables educated youth to become first generation entrepreneurs. The occasion was marked by issue of orders for providing entrepreneur training to seven beneficiaries.

For 2011-12, Tamil Nadu Small Industries Corporation paid 10 per cent of its sales revenue as nomination charges to the State government amounting to Rs.9.03 crore, while Small Industries Development Corporation paid dividend of Rs.87 lakh.
