“I neither studied into the night nor struggled in the early morning hours. Promptly completing the day’s work and following teachers’ advice helped me achieve,” says state second rank holder in SSLC examinations S.Tharani Sree of Santiniketan Higher Secondary School, Theni.

Ms.Tharani Sree, who scored 497 marks, was one of 13 state toppers in English language paper. She wants to become a doctor and do research in the field.

Her class teacher R.Arthi and subject teachers helped her a lot in achieving this feat. “They never advised me to just memorise lessons. They made me understand the subjects fully well. I did not have the last minute tension,” Ms.Tharani Sree says.

Her father S.Sukumar is a marine engineer and her mother Uma a house wife. She is the only daughter to them.

The school also produced a state third rank holder, N.S.Akshayaa, who scored 496 marks. She wants to become an IAS officer.

School correspondent L.Prabhakaran said his school had achieved cent per cent results for the fourth consecutive year. It had also produced district toppers in HSC exams this year.

Theni district had produced four more state third rank holders this year. One among them Mirfath Afana of Mary Matha MHSS, Theni, wants to become an engineer, while N.Rajamayil Priya of Renuka Vidyalaya wishes to take up medicine.

The other two, M.Sherly of Theni Melapettai Hindu Nadar Uravinmurai High School, Muthuthevanpatti, and S.Supriya are determined to become doctors.

Six students in the district scored 495 marks.
