Udhagamandalam: The stage is set for the 2010 Summer Festival in this hill station, according to the District Revenue Officer, S.Kuppusamy.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, he said that steps have been taken to ensure that it was organized in a memorable manner.

The curtain will go up on May 8 when a Rose Show will be organized at the Centenary Rose Park.

It will be inaugurated by the Khadi Board Minister K.Ramachandran.

From May 9 to 17 dance, drama and music programmes will be organized at the Breeks-HADP Open Air Stadium.

Stating that the Tamil Nadu Governor Surjit Singh Barnala will inaugurate the three-day annual Flower Show at the Government Botanical Garden here on May 14, he said that among the participants would be the Union Minister for Information Technology and Communications A.Raja, the State Law Minister Durai Murugan and Mr.Ramachandran.

A cycle rally would be organized by TI Cycles from the Collectorate to the Boat House on May 18 and an extreme biking event on May 19.

A vintage car rally would be held on May 24.

On May 20 and 21 the Nilgiri Mountain Railway will be showcased at the railway station.

While the Boat Race would be organized at the Ooty Lake on May 11 the Boat Pageant will be held on May 13.

Stating that the annual Fruit Show would be held at the Sim's Park in Coonoor on May 22 and 23, he said that a Spices Show would be conducted at Gudalur on May 27 and 28.

The Nehru Park in Kotagiri will host the 3rd Vegetable Show on May 29 and 30.

A photo exhibition will be held at the Horticulture Complex here from May 8 for about ten days.
