Stage set for career fair

Elaborate arrangements have been made for ‘The Hindu Education Plus' Career Fair 2011 for students of standard IX to XII at Centenary Hall, Palayamkottai, on May 19.

Academicians, educational consultants and a civil servant will address the students.

Director, Anna University, Chennai, S. Selvam, will speak on ‘Placement trends of Engineering Students in Tamil Nadu' and civil servant R. Balakrishnan, Chief Vigilance Officer, Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited, will address students on ‘Extra Mile,' a motivational talk on civil services, which has become a dream of students.

Renowned educational consultant Jeyaprakash A. Gandhi speaks on the much-debated subject among the students, ‘ Pre-counselling and career guidance', which will help the students a lot, particularly those who are from rural areas, on a range of avenues available in the field of education.

Following a lunch break, ‘Bodhi', a Chennai-based private company that comprises professionals and research scholars from industry and academics, will conduct a 45-minute free pshychomatirc test from 2 p.m.

Pattimantram' fame S. Raja's motivational and entertaining talk will be an eye-opener for the participants and their parents.

The entire programme will be in bilingual mode and hence the students can raise their doubts either in English or Tamil.
