The management of Salem Steel Plant (SSP), SAIL has pointed out that “no commitment” has been given for the formation of an Industrial Estate on its premises as claimed by the Salem District Small, Scale and Tiny Industries Association (SADISSTIA). Reacting to reports, the SSP management in a press release, has clarified that when the production from its newly-erected facilities, which have to be stabilized after modernisation and expansion, would organise technical briefing sessions for the interested entrepreneurs for manufacturing products using quality stainless steel supplied by it. SADISSTIA in its recent press release has stated that an awareness seminar with the participation of SSP management, industrialists and entrepreneurs, would be organised on February 14 to explore the possibility of forming an industrial estate on the plant premises exclusively for micro and small entrepreneurs by using stainless steel products manufactured by the steel plant.
